In studying the Franks, Anglo-Saxons and the Celts, and anticipating an examination of the vikings, what questions are arising for you? (Remember to label your comment using the Name/URL tab)
This is a test.
ReplyDeleteMy question is how did a group like the vikings, completely reset the almost renaissance like empire that Charlemagne created back to its original barbaric form?
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering, if Charlemagne had won so many military encounters, what caused him to lose against the vikings?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Charlemagne actually knew he was going to be crowned before he walked into the church.
ReplyDeleteI want to know what happened between Charlemagne and his brother and how Charlemagne's brother died.
ReplyDeleteMy question is if Charlemagne had been so successful in battles, why was he so easily defeated by the vikings and why didn't he do more to fight back?
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if Charlemagne did kill his brother for the land, or if he died of other causes
ReplyDeleteWhy did the vikings start to attack at that point in time?
ReplyDeleteI think they started to attack Charlemagne because they heard of the riches of the monastery.
DeleteThey won all their other battles, what was different about fighting the vikings?
ReplyDeleteI am wondering how Charlemagne could kill so many Saxons with such brutality, yet still seem like a kind ruler.
ReplyDeleteMy question is that if Charlemagne had won so many military encounters, how did he lose to the vikings so easily?
ReplyDeletewhy did charlemange not run from the vikings when they came thats what i wanna know
ReplyDeleteYou guys have done well with these questions so far. It seems that many of you are interested in questions of military affairs. Perhaps some of these will be addressed when we investigate the Vikings.
ReplyDeleteI am intrigued about why Charlemange's brother died. Did Charlemange kill him so that he had full reign over then land, and if so, did he regret it later? I would assume that killing your own sibling wouldn't be something somebody modern-day would like to do. Although having control over an entire country would be quite amazing. Of course, that all applies only if Charlemange did eliminate his brother.
ReplyDeleteI would like to know how everyday life went for slaves. Where they lived, what the ate and the jobs they had to do. I think slavery is bad but i would like to know and learn haw bad it really was.
ReplyDeleteHey sorry that my comment is a bit late, I couldn't seem to send anything while using safari. One of the things that i was wondering was how Charlemagne lost to the vikings, due to the fact that he had such great numbers of defense, and why he didn't just abort, and run away.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry this is late, I had the exact same problem as Malcolm. My question is, why didn't Charlemagne fight back and sail to the vikings just like the viking sailed to him?
ReplyDeleteI would like to know how long the dark ages lasted?
ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting to know how much Charlemange learned when he was being taught?
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm posting this late but I had the same problem as Malcom and Liam. I would like to know how everyday life generally went for a slave as in where they lived, how badly they were treated, and their general every-day routines.
