Socials 10-2: Day Two of Party Meetings

Today we had our second full day of party meetings so we could create our platforms (policies).  It was interesting how differently the groups worked today.  Each had a different focus.  Also, some missing students changed the dynamic of two of the groups.  Hmmmm.... interesting.  We also looked at the Canadian and US debt clocks.  One thing that government must do is balance the benefits that can be bought with tax payers' money against the pain of growing debt.  I introduced the idea of "deficit budgets," "balanced budgets," and "surplus budgets" and told how each affected the debt.

You will have one more day to plan and at the end of next class, each group will share a five-minute synopsis of their plans with the class.
